Get A Computer Flat Screen You Will Not Regret ItComments Off

There really isn’t any reason not to get a computer flat screen if you are putting together a new computer. The amount of money you save by choosing a CRT monitor won’t be very much anymore, and you’ll have a bulky piece of hazardous waste to contend with as a result.

I strongly suspect that CRT monitors (and CRT televisions for that matter) are going to slowly phase out of the market and it won’t be long before they virtually disappear.

When computer flat screens first started coming out a several years ago they were of course very expensive. Also, they had a lot of worrisome technical issues like dead pixels and such.

Today, however, the technology has been improved upon a lot, and it has come down in price a ton. Getting a good name brand computer flat screen is only marginally more expensive than an equivalently sized CRT monitor.

The first and most obvious difference I’ve noticed is the superior picture quality in my new LCD computer flat screen. It really puts my old CRT piece of junk to shame. My new computer flat screen is sharper, clearer, and has a much better refresh rate.

I used to get a lot of eyestrain and subsequent headaches for staring at my old CRT computer screen a while, but I’ve yet to feel any of that with my computer flat screen.

Next time you find yourself in a CompUSA, Fry’s Electronics, Costco, or some other store that sells monitors, check out there selection of computer flat screens. Heck, if you have a free minute or two just do a quick search for them online. You might be surprised on how cheap they’ve become recently!

Another great part of having a computer flat screen is of course the smaller size. Computer flat screens are incredibly space efficient. I had to devote pretty much the entire surface of my desk to my old CRT screen, but with my LCD monitor I suddenly have lots of room to do other things with.

It’s all about computer flat screens these days. I recently dumped my old CRT monitor (not easy by the way, CRT screens are considered hazardous waste and you have to use a municipal collection service to do it legally) and picked up my first computer flat screen and I’m just loving it. I can’t believe I waited so long to make the plunge; it has made such a huge difference for me.

The prices of computer flat screens are going down and the quality is going up so why not get one today.

Large Companies Clinch Gaming Laptops OpportunityComments Off

Gaming laptops used to only be able for purchase through specialist companies. Even though they didn’t sell a significant deal they still generated the most in comparison to other styles of notebook computer. The price was just too large to justify buying these types of laptop for potential buyers. They were evidently the best laptop computers that the technology was able to provide at that time. They typically created a lot of buzz however I doubt many buyers would go out and buy laptop computers at high prices. The future for gaming notebooks is now seen by the giant brands as a great opportunity for themselves. Compared to the littler retailers these manufacturers are aware that they can make even more markup. It is certainly a great alternative to higher gross profits. In my point of view established brands can utilise leverage to persuade prospects to buy laptop computers despite cost. I am guessing what the the reaction from littler companies will be. I am already witnessing some price reductions. The top notch technology will rapidly make its way into the eyes of the everyday consumers. Obviously the association of a recognisable brand name comes in here.

The companies latest notebooks are getting a large amount of praise as being the best laptop computers from the magazines. This is surely the only advantage that littler competitors can provide that the tier one companies cannot. The customisation service is a large benefit to the consumer. These types of buyers more often then not are well informed on the technology and will compare spec for spec. For this type of niche, the specs are normally more sought after than the appearance.

Plainly what’s taking place here can benefit people in the long haul. In the end it will drive prices down even more and make the high end technology even more accessible for gamers. I am not really sure any of that would occur though. Different models are always coming out and these latest models usually start at premium prices. The well known manufacturers have already launched their own gaming notebook range, so all we can do now is stand back and watch.

I believe this site (http://www.rizeon.com) are quite inexpensive for the specs they are offering.

Crossing the Social Networking ChasmComments Off

Simon Rogers has uncovered over 1 million British pounds in potential revenues for his company 2Delta, a reseller specializing in project management software, as a result of his participation in Ecademy, an online networking site. After just four months in business, he has been introduced to more than 16 opportunities, each worth 75,000 pounds or more. He’s already closed four deals, including one “nicely into six figures.” For him, Ecademy is a significant business accelerator.

“It is early days,” Rogers says, “but this is startup No. 5 for me, and I know I am miles ahead of where I was with any of the others, and I built each of those businesses into $5 million annual revenue before selling them. I have high hopes.”

When asked whether a social network like Ecademy works for people wanting to build a business, he answers, “Absolutely, but it needs to be ‘worked’ with a process and a view to sharing the rewards. I plan to make money for the people who help me. The word will get around that Rogers is a good man, that his proposition is a good one, that 2Delta delivers the highest quality service and has delighted clients, who give us all repeat business.”

The tech media, perhaps burned by its spoiled love affair with the dotcoms, is now ready to dump online social networks after only a brief fling. Until late 2003, the coverage consisted of, essentially, “Why are all these VCs investing all this money? Where’s the business model?” For a year, there was romance. But now, some pundits are saying that the wave has passed, that the bubble has already burst.

Meanwhile, LinkedIn has topped 1 million users. Many more socially oriented sites crossed the million-member point a while ago, including Meetup, Friendster, and Tickle. The band REM recently announced that they will be previewing their new album on MySpace. OpenBC has gone truly global, supporting German, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese on their site. Enterprise-oriented tools from Contact Network Corporation and Leverage Software have already garnered multiple paying customers. And tens of thousands of people are developing business relationships in ways they never did before.

And yet most Internet users still haven’t even heard of them.

To put this in perspective, Classmates boasts over 38 million members; Reunion.com, 22 million; and craigslist gets 6 million unique visitors a month. Clearly, there’s a lot of room for the new crop of social networking sites to grow, as well as a demonstrated precedent that people are willing to pay to connect with each other for a variety of purposes.

The potential market for business networking is enormous. Over 20 million businesses worldwide are members of local chambers of commerce. Add to that all the marketing, business development, and non-retail sales professionals, plus hiring managers, recruiters, and job seekers, and the number gets very large. Generating revenue and supporting other business processes via relationships are as compelling reasons to connect as finding old schoolmates or potential dating partners. This technology is still in the early adopter stage and has a ways to go before being truly mainstream.

The ultimate question that’s going to determine mainstream adoption is simply, “Do they work?” At the moment, the answer is twofold. Yes and no.

Business networking sites are not living up to the expectations of many people. They don’t effectively represent electronically the complexities of interpersonal relationships. They create awkward social situations that don’t exist face to face — such as how to deal with an explicit request to be someone’s friend, something most of us haven’t had to deal with since third grade. And they don’t prevent spam.

But the fact that they’re not yet living up to their potential shouldn’t blind us from the real immediate benefits to be gained. Let’s look at some of the unique benefits online networking sites offer that traditional face-to-face relationship building does not:

Searchable directory

Where else can you easily search for people by industry, geography, title, and personal interests? It’s the yellow pages on steroids. You can be highly focused in a way that’s impossible in person.

High visibility at low cost

Most of the sites let you create a profile for free. Sure, there’s a limit to how many you can actively participate in, but you can participate passively in dozens of sites. The trick is to keep a document with a master copy of all your profile information so you can easily copy and paste it and set up your profiles quickly. As UCLA Professor Phil Agre says, “The most fundamental way of finding people online is to help them find you.”

Receptive audience

While no one likes to be approached inappropriately, you’ll find people in networking sites more receptive to an informational phone call or email exchange. On LinkedIn, for example, you can specify whether or not you’re willing to accept contacts regarding deal proposals, and you can limit your searches only to people that are. In the discussion boards, blatant advertising may not be allowed, but you won’t be accused of making a sales pitch just for sharing your expertise.

Easy group-forming

Growing a discussion list or forum on your own site is no easy task. In the social networking sites, there’s a built-in audience looking for groups to join. Groups have a visibility within the larger environment that simply doesn’t exist with an independent community, or even on a broad open site like Yahoo Groups. People really will start signing up almost immediately after you create your group, if you offer value to them.

Get visibility into the networks of your connections

The ability to see your connections’ connections, and to determine who you know that can make an introduction to the person you’re targeting, is very powerful and has no direct parallel in face-to-face interaction. In fact, it’s so powerful that entire products are created just around this ability. As Contact Network founder/CEO Geoffrey Hyatt says about his company’s product, “It’s a one-trick pony, but it’s a very valuable trick.” Jeannine Solanto, CEO of Foundation Systems, reports that her company has cut their sales cycle by 15-20%, on average, by using Leverage Software to gain access and influence within target accounts.

You can realize these benefits immediately with the existing technology, regardless of its imperfections. In many cases, you can just use the free service, but even the premium memberships only run a few dollars a month — chump change if you’re actually generating business. So the real ROI question isn’t whether they’re worth the money, but whether they’re worth your time. The answer is “yes” — not because the sites themselves are, but because the relationships are.

Online networking sites simply help you manage more relationships with less effort.

Broadband Telephony Gains PopularityComments Off

In the coming years, a majority of UK’s population is expected to dispose off their traditional landline phones in favour of broadband telephony which offers cheap calls.

Broadband telephony is gaining popularity as consumers are becoming increasingly aware of this technology. Analysts Gartner say that by 2009, 70% of voice calls will be wireless as a result of slashing mobile prices.

Since Internet telephony does not work with dial-up Internet access, you may see more people switch from dial-up to broadband Internet access as its popularity increases.

The cost of handsets may fall down to £14 by 2010.
The companies providing software for broadband telephony via PC are also gaining popularity among consumers but it is predicted that in due course, VoIP-enabled telephones will win out. Although lots of people have downloaded the software for broadband telephony, but not all of them use it.

The conventional telephone companies are affected by the growing popularity of broadband telephony in both a good and bad way.
Although they are adopting this technology, the lower prices of VOIP do not mean that they will gain the same amount of revenue as they did from their traditional telephone services in the past.
It has been estimated that there will be three billion mobile subscribers in the world by 2010.

Fixed line operators are now incorporating wireless with their traditional phone services providing ease of having one device and one bill for both mobile and fixed line calls. But the constant slashing of VOIP prices will discourage people to continue with their landlines alone.
People are expected to use mobile phones instead of landlines if the mobile prices continue to fall.

Weight Loss Resolutions – 10 Reasons Not to Make ThemComments Off

It’s New Year’s time again and traditionally people resolve to change their lives for the better. We want to stop smoking, earn more money, spend time with the family, and so on. But the number one resolution has to be losing weight.

We resolve to exercise more, eat less, eat better, visit the gym, and drink more water.

But as we all know, resolutions often don’t last long. So why bother making them?

Consider these 10 reasons NOT to make dieting resolutions, and what you CAN do instead.

  1. Resolutions set you up for failure because you try to do too much too fast. We creatures of habit don’t change our ways easily. Making a tiny change presents a huge challenge, but resolutions completely turn your life upside down. Start with one small step, such as drinking an extra glass of water each day.
  2. Resolutions made in haste prove unrealistic. Take time to think things through and choose a program optimum for you.
  3. Resolutions represent emotional decisions. Don’t decide to revise your life when you feel stressed, pressured, or depressed.
  4. Resolutions frequently come at a bad time in your life. January 1 works out nicely on the calendar, but it may not be a good point in your life. Many other stressors beyond your control may be happening. Resolving to start exercising or give up hamburgers while a parent struggles with cancer spells a combination for disaster.
  5. Resolutions can be made at a time when you don’t have the moral support you need. Losing weight is tough on your own. Getting together with others multiplies your chances of being successful. If you can’t find a group of other dieters to start with you on January 1, you may lose your motivation.
  6. You may feel pressured to adopt a resolution just because it is the start of the new year. Without your own motivation, you won’t be successful. When you’re ready, that’s the best time, even if it’s July 10th or November 27th!
  7. Resolutions can be gimmicky, accompanied by lots of hype in the media. Not exactly the stuff of long-term life planning.
  8. You don’t take resolutions seriously because they were made in a holiday mood and therefore easily discarded.
  9. Once a resolution has been abandoned, you feel you have failed, and it’s that much harder to set goals again.
  10. You may feel peer pressure to adopt the same resolutions as your friends. Do what’s right for you!

Don’t be a slave to January 1. There are 364 other great days to change your life!

Making Money With Google AdSenseComments Off

The foundation of Internet Marketing is built on the premise of creating multiple streams of income. There are many ways to pull in profits with an online business opportunity.

Google AdSense is a program that lets Internet Marketers take full advantage of their website’s traffic by letting them profit from relevant ads by getting paid for both impressions and clicks.

One of the best Internet Marketing principles you can master is the art of driving traffic to your site. That knowledge comes through learning about search engine optimization, using content and links to direct visitors to your website, and other advanced techniques that enhance your online business opportunity.

If you know the power of getting hits to your site, then you’ll be able to multiply your profits – not just by selling a product or service – but by using Google AdSense in your marketing strategy.

If you pass on a good online business opportunity such as using AdSense to get the most out of your traffic, then you could be passing up thousands of dollars each month in potential profits.

Making money on the ‘net revolves around being able to reach prospective customers. Without good traffic sense, you can’t make money from programs like Google AdSense that are willing to hand out cash.

No matter how great your product is or how appealing your website may be – if it’s empty, your bank account will be too. Google AdSense is one online business opportunity that provides passive income from a source you don’t have to work hard to maintain.

No other similar program has the branding that Google AdSense has. It’s a familiar name for those who browse the ‘net and when you allow visitors to utilize the Google Search Tool from your site, ads that fit in with your site’s basic theme will let you profit from clicks and impressions.

Google AdSense also lets you test the ads on your site for effectiveness. By using channels, you can get a quick view of your website or pages within a site and compare the performance of the AdSense campaign. By testing your efforts, you can optimize your online business opportunity and tweak any Google AdSense campaigns that need help with their performance.

Men and women who are interested in launching a home-based business that centers around the Internet as an avenue for harvesting their income must first learn the power of successful web traffic techniques.

Once that step has been achieved, they can employ programs such as Google AdSense to customize the performance of each page within their site. They’ll rake in unimaginable profits just by signing up for an online business opportunity that offers a virtual hands-off way to make money.

For those just starting out – or want to hone their existing knowledge and skills for becoming an Internet Marketing success story – software may be the answer that helps them increase their traffic and take advantage of Google AdSense.

Everyone wants to generate a steady stream of online profits – but without traffic and without passive income – they’ll be working twice as hard to earn half the amount of money.

Google AdSense has different types of ad campaigns you can put together. Text ads come in the form of banners of all sizes – from leader board to button sized. Image ads also use banner positioning to attract the eye of your traffic. They also offer units of text links if you prefer to just have content in your AdSense campaign.

Online business opportunities will come and go. But Google AdSense looks promising as a strong investment of very little of your time in exchange for financial rewards that – if used on a good number of sites – can add up to big profits.

The AdSense program is free to use. All you have to do is sign up and once approved, start using the traffic techniques you’ve learned to attract visitors and make money when and if they leave your site and click-through to another strategically placed ad.

You have complete control over your Google AdSense campaigns. If you see ads that are relevant to your site, but you’d rather not showcase there, all you have to do is use the filtering tool and the traffic you’ve earned won’t see that link again.

There are many advantages to building an empire around an online business opportunity and profiting from targeted traffic is like succeeding in direct mail promotions – only using modern technology. With Google AdSense, you’ll revel in your site’s enhancement and use it as a viral tool in making money from multiple resources.
