It happens quite often that airline or resort promotional sales will be announced with cheap air tickets. Hence, many people consider traveling on the spur-of-the-moment for this unexpected and inexpensive sounding travel option. Other times, it may be easy to come up with a flight but impossible to find a suitable hotel.
What many travelers find when they start to research for a last minute hotel to go with the promised inexpensive air fare is that all rooms are previously booked so that the airline promoted cheap airfare prices become meaningless. There is no reason to dream about taking an inexpensive flight if there is no place to sleep when the plane lands, correct?
Experienced bargain travel shoppers use tricks to couple finding a room on the spur-of-the-moment with the unexpected cheap airline tickets finds. If the hotel deals aren’t what they expect or are out of the budget, Private vacation rental homes make great substitutes.
Vacation home rentals are announced on the internet, and include private property owners who have turned their empty houses into luxury-style overnight accommodations. In most cases prices are quite similar to the hotel rates but there are enough choices to choose from and hence find something which matches your budget. Plus, if there are more of you traveling, the cost per person is usually dirt cheap. Stays can be booked online from private ads that show lots of colorful photographs about what the lodging looks like. Houses normally have fully equipped kitchens that allow for vacationers to eat-in with some meals to save money.

It happens to all of us. We loose our golf swing, make some type of unknown modification in how we swing the club, and everything falls apart. What can we do to prevent our golf swing from leaving us?
Remember this saying as you continue to read this article; “Proper Preparation Precedes Success and Confidence”. Think about this phrase for a moment and then keep reading.
I write about this subject because of an e-mail I received from a fellow golfer. The e-mail read:
“Sean, while out practicing I appear to have injured a muscle(s) in my back just below my left shoulder, and also around the outside of my left side rib cage. I have tried to continue to play golf through this injury, hoping it would get better but I had to stop. Hitting down and through the ball proved to very difficult and I seemed to be pulling out of shots early and topping the ball on my iron shots a lot.
Do you have any golf fitness exercises in your book which will heal the injury and prevent a re-occurrence?”
Absolutely! I do have golf fitness exercises to help you with the prevention of such an injury occurring.
But let’s get back onto the topic of this article and that is the loss of our golf swing.
“Loosing” your golf swing can occur for a number of reasons. Typically, they fall into one of 3 categories:
1) Mechanical
2) Physical
3) Mental
A loss of your golf swing on the mechanical side of the equation is pretty simple to understand. Essentially, you have made an adjustment in the mechanics of your golf swing causing compensations to occur. These compensations result in poor shots and possibly a great deal of frustration, if you do not know what is happening.
Often times the amateur is completely unaware of the changes they have made wreaking havoc on their golf swing.
How do you go about solving such a situation?
Through proper instruction from a qualified teacher is the first part of this equation. A qualified teaching pro will be able to diagnose the problem and provide you guidance on how to fix it.
The ball is then in your court, meaning you must use this information and go practice (remember, proper preparation precedes success or confidence).
The second reason for the “loss” of your golf swing is a publicized matter, and it is your body.
Remember it is your body that swings the golf club. If your body is unable to swing the golf club properly, the ability to swing it without compensations will occur.
The e-mail above is an example of such a problem. The amateur golfer has incurred an injury as a result of the body not being flexible, strong, or powerful enough to swing the golf club properly over a period of time.
Keep in mind the golf swing requires certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, and power to swing the golf club correctly. If any one of these facets within your body is not up to par (no pun intended, but it fits real well doesn’t it?), the swing will suffer.
Often times body impairments causing you to “loose” your swing are not as severe as an injury (they will get that way if ignored), but rather they are a slight discomfort, muscle pull, or fatigue. Which cause compensations to occur in your golf swing.
Again, we can go back to the phrase “proper preparation precedes success and confidence”. You must properly prepare your body for the golf swing. This is where golf fitness exercises are beneficial.
Golf fitness exercises develop the levels of flexibility, balance, endurance, strength, and power within the body to swing the golf club properly. Golf fitness exercises prepare the body to swing the golf club just as practice ingrains the mechanics of the golf swing.
We finally come to the third category, the mental aspect of golf and fitness. Mental blocks, certain thought processes, or a lack of confidence can directly affect your golf swing.
I have found through my work over the years with professional athletes the development of a sound mental approach to golf begins with the body and progresses from this point to swing mechanics.
If you develop a strong foundation in your body, it provides you confidence that you can perform the mechanics of the golf swing correctly.
Once the physical foundation is developed, you can create the optimal swing mechanics on top of this foundation. Once these two “building blocks” are in place. The mental approach towards the game is confident, relaxed, and focused. Again, let’s go back to the phrase; “proper preparation precedes success and confidence.” Confidence in your golf game can only occur if the physical foundation and fundamentals of the golf swing are in place.
To summarize, “loosing” your golf swing can be attributable to essentially 3 different categories. These categories are your golf swing mechanics, your body, and your mental approach to the game. To minimize the possibility of “loosing” your golf swing, develop a flexible, strong, and powerful body to support your golf swing mechanics. On top of this body, develop an efficient golf swing. This will allow your mental approach to be focused, relaxed, and confident.
If you are confident in your body’s’ ability to swing the golf club, the mechanics of your swing to execute the shot, the ability to mentally focus will be much easier. This is what separates good golf shots from bad golf shots on the golf course.

Many of you reading this may have heard by now the news of a U.S. judge in the state of Kentucky trying to force the forfeiture of domain names of 141 online poker sites. Though non of the sites are based in Kentucky, they presumably could have customers that live in Kentucky, and since gambling is illegal in that state, the idiot judge believes this means the state can shut down these poker sites.
Not only is this an affront to online poker players everywhere, but it is based on the premise that Web sites should be familiar with the local laws in every municipality in the world, and tailor their sites according to them. This is preposterous.
In lieu of this, Sherman Bradley of the Online Casino Advisory has called for a boycott of all things Kentucky, especially Kentucky gambling.
Bradley appealed to not only gamblers, but citizens concerned about Internet censorship and the horrendous legal precedent being set in Kentucky. As the judge’s moves were made to protect horse racing and attack an industry the state has chosen not to tax, Bradley argues that the best response by the thousands of upset individuals is a boycott, hitting Kentucky in the revenue department.
Bradley especially demanded boycotts of Churchill Downs, which hosts live racing from October 26th until November 29th, TwinSpires.com, which is an online gambling site owned by Churchill Downs, and the Kentucky lottery.
I for one wholeheartedly concur and agree with this boycott.

Do as much as you can to avoid a confrontation – “anticipation and avoidance” are the key words. If you get caught up in a situation, try to talk to an aggressor without provoking them. Practice relaxation, as appearing fearful or stressed can actually provoke an attack. Remember that body language is important in aggressive situations, so maintain a comfortable distance between you and the aggressor.
Use a gas or electronic attack alarm, as these give out a short piercing sound and will temporarily disorientate an attacker, giving you enough time to escape. Carry it somewhere where you can get to it quickly – don’t leave it buried at the bottom of your bag. If you don’t have an alarm, just make a noise yourself by screaming as loud as you can, or shouting “call the police” – if you’re loud enough this can be just as effective as a personal alarm. If you have an alarm, use it and shout as well.
Steady yourself if danger threatens. Panic can disable you, so again it’s useful to learn how to keep control in a difficult situation. If you must fight back, adopt what police term the “bash and dash” approach. Primary targets are the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, throat, groin, knees, or shins; choose whichever is easiest to get to.
If held from behind, don’t struggle forward, you’ll only exhaust yourself. Instead, throw yourself backwards to surprise your attacker or stomp on the lower leg or foot.
You have the right to defend yourself with reasonable force and this includes using items you have with you such as an umbrella, bag, briefcase or keys. However, don’t carry or use anything that the law would regard as an offensive weapon. Once you’ve achieved your primary aim of stunning or surprising your attacker, get away as fast as you can. If you manage to overcome them, don’t attack again. You could be putting yourself in more danger or you could end up being charged with assault.
These are just the very basics of self-defense, but to learn more about it and get some exercise at the same time, find a local self-defense class and encourage your family along to join you. Just remember, “anticipation and avoidance” are the best forms of defense.

Most people have heard that the new government guidelines recommend that all Americans eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. While that may seem like a lot, it is actually easier than you think to consume all the fruits and vegetables you need each and every day.
Learning to cook with the many fruits and vegetables available at the local grocery store is an essential skill, and it is very important for those who hope to reach the five a day guideline set down by the USDA.
Just about everyone uses a microwave these days, and microwave ovens can make cooking with vegetables and fruits easy and fun. Using a microwave pressure cooker or microwave proof bowl is a great way to quickly steam veggies. Cooking vegetables this way allows them to retain their all important nutrients.
The microwave is also a great way to cook baked potatoes, and micro waved baked potatoes retain more of their natural moisture, therefore needing less of that fat laden butter and sour cream. Combining free steamed broccoli with that great baked potato gets you almost halfway to your goal of five servings of vegetables and fruits per day.
The grill is another great way to meet your goal of five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Why not use green peppers, red peppers and pineapple chunks to create delicious and colorful vegetable kebobs? Whether served with lean cuts of beef or by themselves, vegetable kabobs are a great treat for the whole family. Vegetables are best grilled over medium hot coals.
Those with a blender handy can make some wonderful smoothies with the great fresh fruit from the grocery store. Delicious smoothies can be made using peaches, nectarines, crushed ice and fruit juice.
For a quick fruit salad, simply open a can of mandarin oranges, add a banana, an apple, and strawberries, blueberries or raisins. The total preparation time for this great fruit salad is all of five minutes.
Fruit skewers are even easier to make than grilled vegetable skewers. Fruit skewers can easily be made by stacking strawberries, melon slices, grapes and chunks of pineapples. A great dip can be made using nonfat plain or vanilla yogurt.
Another great way to meet your five a day fruit and vegetable goal is by making your own healthy salsa. There are some great recipes for salsa on the internet, using such great and healthy ingredients as tomatoes, avocados, red onions, mangoes, cilantro and lime.
For those looking for a fun way to enjoy fruits and vegetables, why not make some popsicles? Popsicles are not just for kids anymore, and pouring fruit or vegetable juice into a popsicle mold is a great way to make a delicious and nutritious snack. In addition, these healthy popsicles are a great way to get the kids interested in eating healthy at an early age. Since eating habits picked up in childhood can last a lifetime, that is very important.
In addition to these great fruit and vegetable serving suggestions, there are other ways to create memorable meals using your five a day criteria. For instance, adding broccoli florets, slices of carrots, cucumber slices, green peppers and red peppers is a great way to add crunch and zest to a bland pasta salad.
A plain old green salad can be perked up by including colorful fruits and vegetables like carrots, spinach leaves, tangerine slices, nectarines, grapes, slices of apples, pineapples and raisins. Not only to these additions add beauty and drama to any salad, but they get you closer to your goal of five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
For a simple, inexpensive and nutritious salad dressing, try such novel approaches as fruit juices, flavored vinegars and home grown herbs. Creating great tasting salads is very important for healthy eating, and avoiding high fat salad dressings is an important consideration for anyone concerned about their health.
Another great way to ensure you eat plenty of vegetables and fruits is to add those vegetables and fruits to the foods you already eat. That can be as simple as adding green peppers and red peppers to your pizza, adding pineapple chunks to your shish kebobs, adding bananas to your cereal or adding blueberries to your daily serving of yogurt.

There are two main types of stoves that can be used for heating and they are wood stoves and pellet stoves. Stoves that use wood as their primary source of fuel are well known throughout the country because they have been a reliable product for years. Wood is in vast supply across the forests of North America, therefore one can reasonably count on wood being plentiful and cheap throughout this lifetime. That having been said however, it would be a mistake to assume that wood will always trump pellets in terms of cheapness, because it is an assertion that does not hold water when it is held up to closer scrutiny. For example, if you look at a case where a person lives in a house close to an area that can supply pellets, but far away from a lumber mill or any other kind of wood production infrastructure, what you will find is that pellets become a lot cheaper than wood by any measure available. This means that different types of stoves are better for people in different parts of the country and your job as an intelligent consumer is to figure out whether wood or pellets are more cost effective for you should you want a heating stove in your home. Neither has the monopoly on the term cheaper.

The Braves win the National League East division every year. With the Phillies and Mets being teams notorious for choking, is there any reason to believe these Braves should not repeat again? No.
It is not only that these Braves win games, but they win their backers money. A lot of money. Over the past 4 seasons, their backers have won 57 units. They are the best kept secret in baseball betting. Particularly impressive is their record against left-handed pitching. Much is said about the lack of offense for these Braves but when they go up against left-handed pitching, they have an average margin of victory of 0.8 runs over the past 7 seasons.
I always take these Braves against left-handed pitching and there is no reason to see this trend of theirs stop in the 2006 season. As a favorites Off of a loss against left handed pitching, these Braves win by an average margin of more than 1 run. They are undevalued by 30 points in these situations! Instead of being -130, they should be -160.
One thing I found interesting was their poor Interleague record. Especially at home where interleague teams are supposed to have an edge. This highlights the importance of their pitching staff. Since they do not have the necessary scouting reports on the opponents hitters in Interleague games, their pitching advantage is minimized.
Look to bet against the Braves against American League squads and for them against lefties. Good luck in 2006.

If you are a single golfer and considering trying a personal ad, you may want think about how to write a great ad that will give you a great repsonse. Golf is a great way for people to get to know each other and if you are prepared to put in a little time, you can increase your chances of finding someone who shares your passion for golf. There are many ways to meet other golfers, from specialized online dating websites to just hanging around the golf course.
The first thing you need to know, and this goes for anyone whether or not they are a golfer is to know what you are looking for. There is no point putting something out there that isn’t what you want because this will just lead to a lot wasted time hearing from people who are looking for something you are not. Be honest and don’t be afraid to put down what you really want.
It’s also usually a good idea to put down what type of golfer you are looking for. Some people don’t mind playing golf with a hacker who is lucky if they ever sink a putt or get on the green. Others don’t have the patience for that and want someone who can keep up with them and play a good game. If you don’t know your handicap, just list the score that you usually play to on an average round of golf.
Include a photo and make sure it is recent if possible. Study after study shows that online dating profiles that have pictures fare much better and receive a much greater response than those without a picture. Don’t be timid on this one, it really makes a difference. Just remember that hopefully you will be meeting someone someday who will have your photo image in mind so be honest here as well.
Above all, you have to be honest with yourself and honest with the people you are hoping to meet. Starting any relationship based on small white lies or trying to be something you are not will only come back to haunt you sooner or later. Go golfing and have fun.

The society in Spain is not only divided by autonomous communities; the country is also split into private and public areas.
The most commonly known area where this private and public issue pops up is in the educational area; private and public schools. Other areas are: transport (toll ways) and television.
Sogecable is a company that is listed on the Ibex35, the Madrid stock exchange. And this company is the owner of Digital +, the private television channel. “Cuatro” is a additional channel that they also own and this channel recently got introduced as a private channel. Before that time it was one of the channel in the private Digital+ package.
Now we have got football, the world cup. And,
… Furthermore, on March 28th 2006, Sogecable reached an agreement for the exclusive distribution in DIGITAL+ of half of the matches of the forthcoming Football World Cup to be held in Germany since June 9th 2006. Source: (http://www.sogecable.com/Media/pdfs/2006/results_1quarter2006.pdf)
The other channel that was able to pay this licence was “LaSexta,” but this company obviously received only a part of the deal; the are able to broadcast all games, but many of them in a deferred way. Cuatro (recently mentioned as part of Digital+) is able to broadcast the games of “general interest;” this is when Spain is on.
Argentina, for example, as many of you know a country with a more than reasonable football league, is placed on the deferred space … The question is who will watch — this is the twenty-first century — a game of which the outcome is already known?
Thus: … As a result of this agreement and the inclusion in the DIGITAL+ proposal of “laSexta”, holder of the remaining World Cup rights including those classified as being of general interest in accordance with Spanish legislation, DIGITAL+ subscribers will be the only viewers in Spain able to enjoy the whole of the Football World Cup live.
And competitive as they are, Lasexta tries to take some revenge; observe their advertisements where they hit on Cuatro with – why would you watch only FOUR (Cuatro in Spanish) games is you can watch them all. What they do not tell you is that this all is half truth, namely – all, but not live.
What keeps my puzzled is why Spanish citizens do not seem to care about this.
According to a web survey with a limited depth of only 360 response, less than 10% of the viewers watch the games through Canal+ (Digital+), 42% through Lasexta and 34% through Cuatro. (http://todosobremitele.blogcindario.com).
This probably means that in Spain they are not really bothered with the World Cup unless Spain itself is on stage. General interest is Spain.

For planting roses a good garden loam with organic matter is important. It must contain peat moss, leaf mold, compost, rotted or commercial manure, and the bed should be prepared as far ahead of planting as is feasible in order to allow for settling of the soil.
Fall is the best time for setting out roses, but you can plant in spring. When they arrive from the nursery, plant at once. If they have dried en route, soak the roots and put the tops in a bucket of water before planting. Trim back any roots that are weak, long or broken at this time. Dig a hole that is wide enough to allow the roots to spread without crowding.
The rose is properly placed when the bud (the point where the top joins the roots) is just under the ground surface. Space hybrid teas about 18 inches apart in any direction. Prune the branches 6 to 10 inches from the soil.
To grow good roses it is necessary to cultivate, to prune and to spray. If you have a well-cultivated bed you need not worry about watering. But if you start to water in hot weather, you must keep it up, soaking the roots thoroughly about once a week.
Spraying every 10 days guards against the diseases and insects that attack roses. Nicotine sulphate wipes out the green lice; arsenate of lead is used against chewing insects; or sulphur and arsenate of lead may be used in a dust, as may DDT dust.
Winterize your roses by mounding sod around them after the first frost, or mulch with straw and evergreens. In cold parts of the country, remove the supports from the climbing roses and place the canes on the ground, peg them, and cover with soil mounds.
In spring, cut back your roses to within 6 inches of the ground. Ruthlessly lop off all but three or four canes on hybrid teas. This pruning will give you strong plants. When your plants grow out from spring pruning, you will have to disbud, cutting off all the buds except the top ones on the cane. This is the way to grow large blossoms.
