Detoxify Your Body with a Brown Rice Diet
A brown rice fast is one of the easiest forms of body detoxing for the uninitiated because it provides constant nutrients, cleanses the body gently (thereby incurring fewer detox side effects) and doesn’t call for food deprivation as a juice detox can.
In the brown rice diet, you only consume brown rice for three to seven days. You will not have the challenge of being hungry or developing low blood sugar. You can season your rice with Bragg’s Amino Acids or miso, similar to soy sauce but healthier since it only contains natural sodium. A tablespoon of miso paste with ginger powder and garlic will provide variety to your brown rice diet. Other seasoning herbs are also suitable, however, be moderate. For a little heat, add chili pepper pepper. You can also use a little pure maple syrup or brown rice syrup for a slightly sweet alternative. Only do this once a day, if at all.
In order to maintain your blood sugar levels, eat five or six small servings of brown rice each day. For convenience, you can cook one or two day’s worth of brown rice at one time. Learn how to cook brown rice.
Be sure to have 3 to 4 quarts of water throughout the day. Include herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a good tea, red clover will promote detoxification and a laxative tea at bedtime will help keep your colon moving.
