Tom Gores in the Private Equity Industry

Private equity companies and their leaders are always in the news. A well known name in the private equity industry has been making his mark for using his unique M&A&O® strategies in completing new acquisitions. Tom Gores is the founder, CEO and Chairman of the Beverly Hills firm, Platinum Equity. At the age of 44 years, he has led the company to great heights becoming one of the most fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the United States. Tom Gores was born in Israel but raised in Michigan. Tom Gores studied real estate and finance at the University of Michigan on scholarship and spent most of his youth learning the process of buying out and operating businesses together with his brother Alec. He then established Platinum Equity in 1995 with the aim of rebuilding distressed companies lacking in financial profits or were looking to change their focus.
