Water Sports Is Fun

Water sports are definitely fun if you get to fool your younger brother!! Oh no, I’m not being mean! If you have to look after your kid brother even when you’re on vacation to the lovely Virgin Islands, then you are totally justified. I still remember my vacation to St. Thomas during the summer vacation last year.

Jack’s nanny decided to desert us at the last moment so I had to play babysitter to my baby brother rather than enjoying myself, basking under the glorious tropical sun, and getting a tan. While the rest of them enjoyed visits to the spa and indulged in various water sports, I had to run behind Jack and ensure that he did not get into any mischief. And, to top it he was on his worst possible behavior, shouting, screaming, and throwing a tantrum at the drop of a hat.

The final straw was when Jack decided that he too wanted to enjoy some water sports activity even though he was scared of water. Dad agreed to take him to the pool but once there Jack insisted on going surfing at the beach! Of course, dad refused to indulge him and walked off before he could throw a fit. Unfortunately, I was left to deal with him, and sure enough, he created a ruckus in the hotel lobby in front of all the guests.

Out of sheer desperation to pacify him, I promised to take him snorkeling and took him to the water sports equipment rental desk at the hotel. We got ourselves the snorkeling gear and headed straight to the dive pool where the instructor was kind enough to allow us some time in the shallow end of the pool, exploring the dirt there. So finally, Jack enjoyed some “water sports” while I enjoyed some peace of mind without any further public humiliation.
